Last day at my first desk!!!!

Well it seems quite weird, infact very weird that i have to clear my desk now. It is the last day of my first ever desk. It was really fun place actually. Somehow i was situated in such a way that i had my privacy also and also my part of interference. I had my personal desk phone which not many people do here. It was really really a great place. Somehow a happy place. I know although the future of my leaving this desk may be somewhat good, somewhat satisfying. But still it seems sad that i am leaving this place forever. Although this couldnt have happened to me at a much better time as my first ever project is just about to get over, almost all of my friends have either been released or transferred or relocated. So in all this is a blessing in disguise.

I have achieved a lot from this project. I have received lots of responsibilities, lots of work, lots of appreciation also. I have worked a lot in this project. I hope i can prove myself again, as i had proved myself here. I hope i can gain the same value as i had gained here. I hope, i hope...

Well it seems a bit sad to leave this beautiful and lovely place. But life needs to keep moving on. And i know that i am getting better and better. I just need to keep it up.

Auto Expo 2006!!!

This is a very old blog article which i had accidently placed on an alternate blog. Anyways i am reposting it just for my future reference.

Hello Friends!! Recently i visited the Auto Expo 2006 at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Well the exhibition was a disappointment. I mean there were many cars kept on display. And the display included one of the best names in the business too. But there was hardly any information about them. The Lamborghini was kept atleast a couple of yards away from the viewing area. The Mercedes and the Ferrari were kept in the same circle. Although the issue is not how the cars were displayed and whether they were being allowed to be touched or not, the issue is that there was simply no proper information. Very few cars like the modified Honda City by the great DC had a volunteer to tell you about the car, or the Skoda Station Wagon was explained. Also Mahindra Scorpio was being explained. Looks like the big guns like Audi, Range Rover, etc seemed very confident that people knew their cars well. Well if thats the scenario, then i can't blame them. But frankly the best part of the exhibition for me was to get a 1:18 replica of the rare Toyota Celica GT-S for myself. Had been dying to get my hands on one of those for long.

Life has been a mystic sand. Yes sand as you say, "The more you try to grab it in your hands, the more it gets out!!" I recently was under the impression that not only good projects but even transfer would be an easy venture if i want so. But life is not that easy. Well not only project work but even transfer is very difficult to think of. It seems evident to me that i am still here in Kolkata for a good deal of 10 more months. And just the thought of it makes me a bit scared. I do want success in life. I do want to grow up in the organisation. But..

It all comes down to the number of people i can influence in my project, in my company. I have started working on something new. Something which i think will get me to the top of atleast this organisation very soon. But i dont know how effective this would be. I am ready to work my gutts out if i have to. And i will because i know this will be a necessity. But the question is will all this pain be worth it in the end. I dont know. I really dont know. My health is not supporting me to grow. Neither is my surrounding. I feel as a loner once again in my life.

I know i have fought and overcome this deal before, and that too with great and wonderful surprises before. I just hoped that this would never come back. But it has.

I dont want to give up now. And i will not. Not till my last breath.

Lord Almighty, please give me strength!!

I hope i can achieve the unimaginable very soon, so that i can change not just my life but also the lives of the people who have placed theor trust on me today.

Amen.

I desperately need it. I need to become as successful as I can and that too fast, very very fast. I want to give my future all the happiness in this world. And i will do it. Damn it, I will do it.

Well finally my role in my module is done. I have completed all the goals of development with testing and it has also been reviewed by the authority. And i have not just completed them, but i have done them 6 days ahead of schedule. A full week before the system is gonna go live. Wow its a great feeling. And the feeling is more great because all the hard work and late nights in the office for the past 3 weeks have finally paid off very nicely.

During the entire project i got to learn many many new things. Many simple and many complicated things came in the way which i am quite accustomed with now. I feel more confident in my approach now. And i feel quite responsible also now.

Well i hope that this is a good sign. But since the module has ended i have been told that i am gonna be placed into another module which is also not gonna last very long. Maximum for a month or so. So probably after that i will be placed into another module. It seems that these things will keep going on and on till atleast December when my project itself ends and i am incorporated into another project which my team is gonna be merged with. Lets hope that i get some really cool opportunities till then. And my role becomes more and more prominent. Because sooner or later, i will have to start creating my mark. And whenever i do that, i will have to do it hard. Otherwise its gonna be difficult to make a place in the top positions.

Hey Friends, Well life has been grateful to me. I was very upset when i was sent to Kolkata, as i had heard that there was absolutely no work here. But atleast till now, God seems to have blessed me with some really decent and good work. And not only work mind you, but also a very healthy environment. I have a fantastic TL who looses his cool very fast over other people, but has been very kind to me, mostly because he knows that i am a fresher and i will not be knowing much. But he is a great man. The amount of knowledge and fun this person has is worth marvelling. The efforts which he takes in his projects is too great. I have been learning a lot recently because of him. And although other people fear him a lot, i have been trying to stay as close to him as possible. Dont wanna miss even a single chance for growth.

Well for the rest life is absolutely cool. It was just yesterday when i saw "Shootout at Lokhandwaala". Well i have only one word for it. "Fattttte" the movie is absolutely cool. Really fun to watch with guy friends. Gaali waali mast di hai. But i guess thats a cool nature of every movie now. Sanju baba is acting very well in the movie.

Anyways friends this is all which is going on at present. Keep cool. Keep healthy.

Hi Friends, I am back. Well finally i am getting some useful work from today. It seems pretty interesting and i have a wonderful guide. My TL seems absolutely cool. He knows exactly what to do when. Well actually thats the reason he is the TL. But he seems very very informative. Till now the work which i was doind was seemin to be very childish. But this now seems fun. The fun of making a mistake which would in turn lead to a chain of serious troubles for absolutely everyone. While explaining the work the TL showed good trust towards me. Lets hope for the best. I hope i can grow in my work soon.

I wanna tell something about my work also. Today i was given a very complicated graph to work and understand. Although i am still unable to figure out what each component in the graph is all about. My TL says that at present i just need to focus on only 2 or 3 components at a time. Because that is where all my work lies. And to be careful not to goof up those components in any form. Well verbal deadlines are also given. I hope i can understand and make sense out of my work more nicely. Things are very very much complicated. I was warned today by my TL that there is gonna be lots of politics around. But i have to stay put and stay firm on my work. I need to concentrate on the work which i am doing.

At present i am least bothered about the politics going on around me. Although i will keep an eye open for problems, at present i just want to concentrate on my work. The sooner i understand things, the sooner i can make my mark. And the sooner i can go up the ladder.

As always once again i ask the Almighty Lord to help me in this time. Give me strength to work with my heart and with my brains all open. So that i can kick some serious BUTT!!!!

Hi friends, Well something strange has happened today. I was sitting in my cubicle just checking mails when suddenly i was called upon by the PL. I thought that maybe it was because i didnt report to him that day. Just kept low and came to him searching for a good reason to tell him as to why i didnt report to him that day. But this was not that small. When i met him he told me that i need to shift from my nice cosy cubicle to a cubicle which is exactly in front of him on his floor. The exact place where even if i stretch my finger he'll be the first one to know. Anyways i am brought down because it seems that i have some work and i need to prepare and get ready for the project fast. As i need to get into some development work. So atleast not everything is bad!!!!

Hello friends, Its feeling really great to write an article so frequently. I believe that this is the only legal way here in TCS to stay in contact with the outside world. But unfortunately this is the most slowest way to keep in touch with people. But alas i have some hopes kept on it. Here in TCS the work environment of my team seems pretty good. And all seem very knowledgeable too. Although only time will tell what men are actually made of here. Till then Cheers!!!!

Hello my dear friends, Man did i miss my place here. But no worries now, since i have got my very own system now with a beautiful licensed version of Vista loaded into it. So its a full power-packed system. Its now that i'll be in more touch than ever. The last 3 months have been very challenging. It has tested me on all aspects. But frankly i am enoyin this. I really really am enjoying this. Staying away from loved ones does bring in a great deal of sorrow. But it has also brought in me a great deal of responsibility. Infact it is now that i feel stronger than ever. But as they say, " A person is most vulnerable when he is strongest." So i am gonna keep my head straight. Work as hard as i can. And SUCCEED. And believe me that it is not some stupid trial version. Its the full version which is on sale. But you cant get any software you like. Hello People, Well after almost two months of waiting, today i got my joining letter. And after two months today, its clear that i am going to Trivandrum to join the one and only TCS. It feels really great now. And am pretty relaxed now. Finally i am all set to work in some really cool environment and also make some good money for that. But frankly 11th January still seems pretty damn far. But i am sure that this time will fly away very very fast. Anyways its time for celebration and now i am off for the party. Today i found a very amazing tool at a friends place. With the help of this tool you can replace the shell of your Operating System (which is by default Explorer), with a shell known as 'Litestep'. And man i am damn happy with this, as i hear that most of the viruses and trojans are meant to attack your explorer first. Also along with this replacement, the theme of nonstep has played a great combination and has changed the feel and look of my machine. And i am very very content with this at present. Although it is a bit difficult to get around at first and most people would be bugged by this as we are very much explouted by the Windows standard style. But frankly this is a very good change. I recommend it all those people who are bored by the same old look of your desktop and also want to try their hands at something new.

Hey Friends!!
It has been high time that i have been placed now. For the people who know me, they know very well that i have tried my hands at everything. I even went to Pune to do a course on Mainframes so that i could have an extra edge over people, and so i could get employed more easily. But it seems that destiny had decided my fate long back. And so now i am with the biggest guns in the business, the TATAs. It feels really good to get even involved with the name TATA. And it really seems a pleasure to be associated with them, and even working with them. But every good thing in life comes with a test. And today the test is about whether i can prove myself worthy of the TATAs. Yes, i have to at any cost. And yes i will. For once i will not let down those people who have laid lots of trust on me. Cause this is my time now. And i am gonna make the best of it.

I am back finally. It seems really long since i have blogged anything. I know there would be no one who would check my blog except me. But it somehow gives me great pleasure in writing. Anyways the exams are over now. I mean its almost a month now since the exams have ended. The rains are all around the place. Well its time to enjoy now. After all finally with lots of hardships we have reached the final gates of engineering. I know that life will continue to bring more and more challenges in the future, and its not that i am tired of anything. Infact i am more than ever prepared. But i will always pray to God to help me and be at my side in all the tough times as he has been till now. But as of now, its time PAAAAARRRRRTTTTTTYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the so called vacation has ended and its time to get back to work. Although its the last semester but its no time to get easy. Infact its that time where you have to be at your best and prove every bit of you. This is that time which tells us that how less time we have remaining with us to accomplish so many incomplete things. And above all the question remains that what are we gonna do after the next six months. Well there are lots of things to do. When asked about this people say "Lets see where our fate takes us." Well i dont want to be that person who leaves such things to fate. I do agree that fate wil decide everything but i will definitely want to try and give an opinion. Very soon all the assignments will start for the last time. Very soon all the tests will start for the last time. Very soon we'll be preparing for our VIVA's the last time. And very soon we'll all be engineers coming out. Any ways its also the time to enjoy every bit of the enginnering schedule left. And i hope we can all make the best of it.

The Fighting Experience!!

Hi Friends, Well the title may be quite misleading. So let me make it clear in the beginning itself. It was the day of my project VIVA. And it seemed that the external who had come the other two days had been changed for the third day. And man he was kicking quite a bit of ass. I being alone in the project was quite scared of the happenings. And the tie on my neck seemed to almost choke me. But my friends kept on forcing me to keep wearing the tie. Well its good i listened to them as that made me look quite presentable. Anyways it was my turn for the presentation. I was fully ready to face the music by the examiner. My school friend (Sidd) had made me quite prepared for the vivas. And it was because of him that all my fundas were clear. Then the presentation started and he stopped me even before i reached the "Problem Definition". He asked me about the bad links and what i would do about it. Then he asked me about Google's crawler and that is when the fight started. He kept on telling me that the thing i am doing is a copy of Google and it exactly same as that which was not true. So i protested. I started introducing the features of my project (which by the way is Web based Crawlers) and in what sense is my project actually different from Google. But he kept on interrupting me again and again and kept on insisting that it was the same. Now i was beginning to loose my temper. But i still kept my cool and still stood my ground on the project. By then the professors who were sitting behind and some of my friends started giving me signals to cool down and accept the flaw which was never there. Well then i became a bit slow in my voice but not low. And before i reached the analysis and design of the project the external told me that this was enough he wanted to know. I thought that he must have been very irritated by a student who kept on arguin with him. But as i had just finished to sign the sheets for my submission, he called me and said "Try doing it with PIS or Auto text categorization and see it will work very nicely." And the smile on his face showed me that he was very satisfied with me. i smiled back and said "Thank You" and left. Well this was a great experience for me which i dont think would be repeated again. Atleast i hope this. But as you say "All's well that End's well." And so as i reached the back of the presentation hall i loosened my tie and felt the greatest satisfaction.

VIVA's away but the Mains are here!!

The VIVA's are finally over. Thank you LORD. Well the vivas were not bad this time. But now is the actual testing time cause now is the time to study. This is that period of an engineer's career where he/she slogs to its utmost stretch. Well if you are an engineer and you are not sloggin the you better start now. Well i do know that its 'Practice before you Preach.' But i assure you that these exams i am going to put my very best and am gonna try to prove myself. But the rest is left at the Lord's will. Anyways all of you reading this, ALL THE VERY BEST for your exams and be confident of your self. Cause its just you who can help yourself in the most efficient way and everybody else's help will always remain less. So take good care of yourself. And dont forget to ENJJJJJJJJJJJJOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Enggineers BEWARE!!!!

Well it's been long now and i guess it would have still taken more time for me to blog again if it hadn't been for this news. All the BE students of Mumbai University who were admitted in the year 2002-03 are supposed to pay 1-1.5 lakh rupees to the university as a due charge o fi dont know what. It seems that 2 years back the students of SIES college (Batch:- 2002-03) had filed a case against their management that they were charging them more fees inspite of them being free seat students. To this the high court passed a generalised judgement that all the students who were admitted in the year 2002-03 were supposed to pay as per their admission schedule i.e 15000 for free seat and 50000 for payment seat. But then the SIES management challenged this decision in some other court and now the outcome is that the respectable vice-chancellor wants the students of final year engg to pay 1-1.5 lakhs. I mean what does he think we are, some money minting press.

Hey Friends, At last the rains have started. And man have they really taken of. They say that it hasn't rained so heavily in the last 100 years. WOWWW. That's awesome. Well i know that it has not been a plesant experience for most of us. Rather who would enjoy walking in waist and above height water. Any ways we can now say that Mumbai has now faced the ultimate threat. It seems that the spirit of the city was put to it's fiersome test and i am proud to say that it has passed out with flying colors. It was the rains which showed the world what mumbai is actually made of. I would just like to say. KEEP IT GOIN MUMBAI!!

Yes they are here. The RESULTS. Well as always it has been ok with me. Again people who used to fool around all year around have scored extremely classy. And again i have had an average percentage on my list inspite of toiling hard and neglecting all my friends. But any ways i am happy that i have cleared and i am happy that all my friends have also. Well i have always believed in myself. Although i won't lie when i say that i had doubts regarding my studies. But now i want to believe to the fact that marks are not the only criteria that can make you successful. But it is the knowledge and the fact what your actual worth is. I believe that if i work hard then one day i will achieve what i deserve in the true forms. I have decided that i will not give up under any circumstances. I will fight my way back. I will prove my self one day.

Friends the placement season is on. And as far as i know. Many of you have already been involved in the process. But as far as i am concerned i have not got a call back from any company. Well it is a bit disappointing but as they all say "Everything happens for good". I really should find and clobber the person who said such a stupid thing. Any ways as i said the season is on. And i am still empty. But i am not upset. I know that in the last three years i have not had any accomplishments. And i know that because of this i do not deserve any position. But still as you all know that the human mind always craves for what it cannot get. Any ways i know that there have been no accomplishments yet. But i am a high thinker. And i will one day prove myself and that day even if i don't have any placements i will still be satisfied. Because it has always been my dream to be the best. And i will achieve it one day.

There have been many instances where the people of INDIA have shown that this country is made up of the best people. But most of these instances have been from people who have left INDIA and accomplished their goals outside. But here is this guy(Ramlal Bhagat) from Haryana, who is in his 12th std and has built a 32-bit operating system. And unlike any other operating system it does not need DOS as it's base operating system. In other words it is removing the Microsoft monopoly completely. Watch out Mr. Gates here we come. Now just like this guy there are innumerable more efficient brains in our country. But the functioning of the system holds them back. It hinders the growth of all the efficient brainies. In today's India, a guy who scores in his exams is a brainy (scholar) no matter if he has knowledge or not. It doesn't concern people whether it has been just a mugging routine for the 'scholar'. The only thing that matters is that the person has achieved good grades. But for all those who have brains and dont get good grades. Take it from me. "Follow your heart". One day you will definitely succeed.

The MM factor of cars.......

Hi Friends. Cars are one of the toys which a man usually wishes to play with. They are the show of a man's grandeur. The bigger the car the better the glare. Around six months back i saw a similar car to which no other car could compare. A car which which stood above everything else as the ultimate machine. It was the none other than the Maybach Mercedes. The view of the car was the ultimate sight for any car fan. It was showcased at the Grand Intercontinental Hotel. And man was the view INCREDIBLE!! The car was on display and i took the full advantage of it. I saw the car from every possible angle you can think of. The 5500 cc miracle left me fully astonished. So guys take it from me if you ever get a chance to see the car DONT miss it at any cost.

This is basically for all you Engineer readers. Guys what actually is engineering??? Why are we there doing engineering?? Mostly people take engineering because his/her best friend has taken it. Well that is ok now since you are already in now. But what now? Is this it? NO. That should be your answer. You should have aims and goals to accomplish something, make something which makes you proud. And do it while the time is. Once you get stuck in any of the KT's cycle then life's gonna be mess. Although this doesnt mean that it's too late ( If you are already into the cycle ). This just means that you will have to work harder instead. You just have to make these four years worth somehow. So the punchline here is KEEP WORKIN FOR SOMETHIN!!!!!!!!!
